METRO MANILA LAW ENFORCEMENT on the
DEPLOYMENT of AED at ESTABLISHMENTS
According to several studies, Metro Manila is one of the congested cities, has one of the worst traffic situations in the world. Considering these factors, an AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR is a MUST-HAVE emergency device supposed to be deployed in every corners of the metro.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) adheres to 3-minute rule. An unattended victim experiences brain damage inn 4-6 minutes. Brain damage irreversible in 8-10 minutes. Brain cells begin to die after 4-6 minutes of oxygen deprivation.

What if the ambulance you called for help is stuck in a desperate EDSA traffic?
What if you have a life-saver AED you could only run to grab for 1 minute or so?

Though Metro Manila is still not into full action on the deployment of AEDs unlike several countries which already adapted the Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) system, several LGUs have initiated steps to establish this of essence.

The Mandaluyong City Government established an Ordinance—ORDINANCE NO. 693, S-2018 AN ORDINANCE ENACTING THE AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATOR (AED) CODE OF THE CITY OF MANDALUYONG

This Ordinance shall govern and save sudden cardiac arrest victims in public areas, especially within the City of Mandaluyong using “AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILATORS”.
